Lady Lions Drop Dual Meet at Wells

AURORA, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona women's swimming was handed a 69-20 loss by non-conference opponent Wells College on Tuesday afternoon at the Wells Aquatic Center.

The Lady Lions recorded three first place finishes during the meet. Hannah Kimmick (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) had two first places, and Kaitlin Heil (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) picked up one first place.

Kimmick started her day with a first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle, clocking in at 2:20.42. Later, she won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:28.63.

Kimmick also picked up a second place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke, in which she posted a time of 1:18.67 to score points as the runner-up.

Meanwhile, Heil took first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 6:56.47.

Heil also grabbed points by placing third in a pair of other swims. In the 50 Yard Freestyle, she finished third with a time of 30.91. Heil also placed third in the 100 Yard Freestyle, clocking in at 1:07.80.

Penn State Altoona women's swimming is back in action this Friday, January 18, when the Lady Lions travel to Washington, D.C. to take on non-conference foe Gallaudet University in a dual meet beginning at 6:00 p.m.
