Women’s Tennis Downed 8-1 at Frostburg

FROSTBURG, Md. – Penn State Altoona women's tennis was handed an 8-1 loss by non-conference opponent Frostburg State University on Saturday.

Frostburg (2-0) took all three points from doubles, then won five out of six singles matches to cruise to a comfortable win.

Penn State Altoona (4-4) got a win in No. 1 singles from Jessica Stevens (Altoona, PA/Altoona), who prevailed 6-1, 6-0. The victory keeps Stevens' winning streak alive, as she improves to 8-0 in singles matches this season.

Lady Lions tennis returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, September 30, for a home match against nearby Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mount Aloysius College at 1:00 p.m. The match, which will occur on campus at the Adler Tennis Courts, is also Special Olympics Awareness Day, as the team will welcome members from the local Special Olympics.
