Lady Lions Fall 3-0 at Lebanon Valley
ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team started its weekend road trip with a 3-0 loss to Lebanon Valley College on Friday night in the Sorrentino Gymnasium.
Lebanon Valley (3-3) pulled off a 25-23, 25-19, and 25-20 victory.
Despite playing well themselves, Penn State Altoona (1-1) was unable to overcome an efficient performance by the Dutchmen, who committing just seven total attack errors in the match.
Jenna Bauer (Ebensburg, PA/Central Cambria) led the Lady Lions in kills with eight, digs with 15, and blocks with one solo and one assist. Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) added seven kills, 11 digs, and a match-high four service aces.
Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) totaled six kills and a block assist, Lauren Diller (Chambersburg PA/Chambersburg) had four kills, 12 digs, and one solo block, and Velanna Skripek (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) also had four kills.
Emily Bryan (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) had a team-high 15 assists to go along with five digs, and Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) totaled eight assists.
Lexie Dorcon (Berlin, PA/Berlin Brothersvalley) chipped in two aces and four digs.
Penn State Altoona women's volleyball plays two matches tomorrow, Saturday, September 7 at Penn State Harrisburg. The Lady Lions take on Moravian College at 1:00 p.m. before facing host Harrisburg at 3:00 p.m.
