Women’s Volleyball Goes 2-0 in AMCC Quad

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's volleyball hosted an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference quad match in the Adler Auxiliary Gym on Saturday, and the Lady Lions went 2-0 on the day.

Penn State Altoona (8-10, 4-2 AMCC) defeated conference foes D'Youville College and Hilbert College each by a score of 3-0. In the neutral site matches, Pitt-Greensburg also went 2-0 on the day, sweeping both D'Youville and Hilbert 3-0.

Match One: Penn State Altoona 3, D'Youville 0

The Lady Lions dispatched D'Youville (3-15, 1-4 AMCC) in three sets, winning by scores of 25-7, 25-23, and 25-13.

Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) had a team-high seven kills for Penn State Altoona to go along with five digs and one solo block. Jenna Bauer (Ebensburg, PA/Central Cambria) posted six kills and 10 digs, and Lauren Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) led the team with 12 digs while adding five kills and one solo block. Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) chipped in four kills.

Emily Bryan (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) led the Lady Lions in assists with 10, and she also had four digs and one service ace. Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) added four assists, four digs, and one ace.

Velanna Skripek (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) had a match-high two service aces for Penn State Altoona to go along with six digs. Lexie Dorcon (Berlin, PA/Berlin Brothersvalley) had seven digs, and Lilia Farach (Tegucigalpa, Honduras/International School of Panama) recorded one solo block.

Match Two: Penn State Altoona 3, Hilbert 0

Penn State Altoona cruised through a 25-6, 25-23, 25-12 sweep of Hilbert (0-19, 0-7 AMCC) to secure its fourth conference victory of the season.

Farach and Mock tied for the team-high in kills, recording seven kills each. Farach also had one solo block, while Mock finished with five digs.

Diller added six kills to go along with eight digs and two service aces, and Bauer had team-highs with nine digs and three aces while posting five kills. Skripek compiled five kills and five digs.

Moran led Penn State Altoona in assists with 17, and she also chipped in four digs and a pair of kills. Bryan finished with 13 assists, six digs, and two aces.

Dorcon posted seven digs, and Cannistraci had a solo block while adding two kills.

Next up for the Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team is a road match at AMCC opponent Franciscan University on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m.
