Auxiliary Gym

Auxiliary Gym

From 1972-2017, the Adler Gymnasium -- now referred to as the Auxiliary Gym -- was the primary indoor athletic facility at Penn State Altoona. As the home court for the varsity men's and women's basketball and men's and women's volleyball teams during that span, the Adler Gym hosted hundreds of NCAA Division III games on its floor.

Over the years, the gym received many upgrades and improvements, including two new scoreboards, a digital display board, and new bleachers that offer seating for 700 fans. The playing surface itself also saw several updates, such as the installation of a new court and resurfacing of the floor. The gym features a 113 x 79 foot hardwood court area.

Today, the Auxiliary Gym continues to be used frequently for athletic-related activities, such as intramural sports, recreational offerings, and fitness classes. The gym still serves Penn State Altoona's varsity sports teams as an occasional practice space, and it is a backup venue for hosting varsity games.
