Donations Accepted for Brian Morden Foundation this Saturday

ALTOONA, Pa. – This Saturday, February 8, the Penn State Altoona men's and women's basketball teams are hosting Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day during their games in the Adler Arena.

One of the organizations involved in the day's events is the Brian Morden Foundation. The Morden Foundation was created to honor Brian, a 19-year-old who battled Ewing's Sarcoma for more than two years. He lost that battle in February 2003, and the foundation was created to honor his legacy by fighting the disease. The foundation aims to fund childhood cancer research, while also supporting the patients, families, and staff involved in cases of cancer.

Fans who attend Saturday's games (men's game at 2:00 p.m., women's game at 4:00 p.m.) are encouraged to donate items for kids, such as crayons, coloring books, or toys. Monetary donations will also be accepted. All of this will be donated to children with cancer through the Morden Foundation.

If you are unable to attend Saturday's games in person, items can be dropped off for donation in the Athletics office suite on the second floor of Adler all week leading up to Saturday.
