NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona junior forward Dwayne Jones (Philadelphia, PA/Greater Johnstown) was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week in men's basketball on Monday afternoon.

Jones had a pair of double-doubles last week to help the Penn State Altoona men's basketball team to wins over AMCC opponents Mount Aloysius College and Wells College.

In last Wednesday night's home victory against Mount Aloysius, Jones contributed 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with two assists, two steals, and two blocks. In Saturday afternoon's road win at Wells, he scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds while also recording five blocks, three steals, and one assist.

On the week, Jones averaged 21.0 points per game, 14.0 rebounds per game, 3.5 blocks per game, 2.5 steals per game, and 1.5 assists per game. Through nine games this season, Jones currently leads the AMCC in blocks (18) and blocks per game (2.0) while ranking second in defensive rebounds (64) and total rebounds per game (9.1).

This is Jones' first AMCC Player of the Week award this season, and it is the second of his Lions' career.

Penn State Altoona men's basketball is 4-5 overall, including 3-1 in the AMCC. The team's next game is Wednesday, December 20, when it hosts non-conference opponent York College (Pa.) for a 5 p.m. contest in Adler Arena.
