Women’s Swimming Finishes Spring Schedule at Alfred State
ALFRED, N.Y. – The Penn State Altoona women's swimming team wrapped up its spring schedule on the road Thursday afternoon, facing Alfred State College in a dual meet at the Orvis Pool.
Penn State Altoona notched a first place finish in each of the six events it swam in the women's meet, including two wins apiece from Grace Dangelo (State College, PA/State College) and Avery Heisey (Lancaster, PA/Conestoga Valley).
Dangelo took first place in the 100 Yard Butterfly, clocking in at 1:00.42. She also won the final event of the women's meet, the 200 Yard Backstroke, with a time of 2:14.54.
Heisey prevailed in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 25.77, and she also took first in the 100 Yard Freestyle by finishing in 55.72.
Sarah Petry (St. Benedict, PA/Cambria Heights) won the opening event of the women's meet, taking first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:06.58. Kaitlin Heil (Pittsburgh, PA/CAPA) got a first place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle, earning a time of 6:40.19.
