Down 18-16, the Lions scored three straight points on a Barnhart kill, a Hilbert attack error, and a Batrus ace to jump ahead, 19-18. The teams traded points and found themselves deadlocked at 21, before two more Hilbert errors and a Port kill propelled the Lions back into the lead, 24-21. The Hawks rallied to tie the score at 24-24, but back-to-back kills from Port and Simanski finished the set in favor of Penn State Altoona, 26-24.

In the second, Penn State Altoona grabbed the lead early and fended off Hilbert throughout the set. The Lions opened the set with four straight kills, getting two from Simanski and one apiece from Feathers and Taylor Myers (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch). Hilbert came back to nab a 17-15 lead, but a kill from Port, a Hawks setting error, and a Simanski ace got Penn State Altoona back in front, 18-17. Tied 18-18, the Lions used a 5-1 run to build a four-point lead, 23-19. Hilbert narrowed its deficit to one, 23-22, but kills from Barnhart and Simanski helped Penn State Altoona achieve a 25-22 victory.

Penn State Altoona secured a more comfortable win in the third set, during which the Lions never trailed. A Barnhart kill gave Penn State Altoona a 10-6 lead, and kills from Myers and Simanski helped make it 14-9. The Lions got a kill from Port, as well as a duo block by Fussell and Port, over the next several points, as they increased their lead to eight points, 20-12. Leading 21-15, the Lions scored the final four points of the set, getting kills from Fussell and Barnhart, a Hilbert attack error, and an ace from Emel to finish off the Hawks, 25-15.
