Bio

Jamie McGreal is the assisant women's volleyball coach at Penn State Altoona. She began her coaching career at Ivyside in fall 2021.

After serving as the Lions' assistant coach for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, McGreal became the interim head coach of the program in 2023. In that season, she guided the Lions to their third-ever Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship, which led to the team's third NCAA Division III postseason appearance. For her success with the program, she was voted the AMCC's 2023 Coach of the Year in women's volleyball.

Prior to the beginning of her time at Penn State Altoona, McGreal was the head coach at LaGrange College (Ga.) from 2014-16, where she posted a 53-50 record, culminating with a 22-14 record and appearance in the USA South tournament semifinal. Under her tutelage, McGreal’s program produced the first USA South women’s volleyball all-conference selections for LaGrange in team history.

After her time at LaGrange, McGreal has served as the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School’s girls volleyball head coach, helping to lead the Golden Tigers to back-to-back PA District VI playoff finals. She also spent time as an assistant coach with the Saint Francis University (Pa.) women’s volleyball program.

McGreal was also a standout volleyball player for Frostburg State University (Md.), where she was a team captain and led the Bobcats to four consecutive conference championship titles – three coming in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and one in the Capital Athletic Conference. McGreal was a two-time all-league selection, including earning second team honors as a senior in 2010. In the Bobcats’ all-time records, she still ranks second in service aces (237), fourth in digs (1,532), and 10th in kills (962). McGreal also holds Frostburg’s single-season (92) and single-match (11) records for service aces.
