Fan Code of Conduct

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable game day experience. Guests are responsible for their own behavior and the behavior of those who accompany them to the event. The following is expected regarding fan conduct:

  • Be a positive role model for those around you and cheer positively for your team.
  • At no time may a spectator interfere with or enter the playing surface (court, field, deck, course, bench area, or dugout) unless specifically directed to do so by event staff. Spectators who enter these areas without proper authorization will be asked to vacate the playing area immediately and return to the spectator area. Spectators failing to abide by a request to vacate the playing area will be ejected from the venue.
  • Obscene, insulting, or abusive language, gestures, signage, or behaviors directed toward University staff, spectators, game officials, or event participants may result in the removal of the offending party from the event venue.
  • Spectators who throw objects onto the playing surface will be removed from the venue.
  • Spectators whose actions are intended to incite others to participate in offensive, abusive, or dangerous demonstrations will be removed from the event venue.
  • The use of tobacco products and alcohol is prohibited at Penn State Altoona venues. Violators shall be removed from the event venue.
  • Spectators showing signs of alcohol impairment shall be denied entrance or ejected from the venue.
  • Failure to abide by safety instructions given by event staff shall result in spectators’ removal from the event venue.
  • Fans in violation of any of the provisions of this policy may be subject to arrest and/or being banned from future athletic events.
  • Anyone who has been removed or ejected from a competition venue will not have any admission fees, if collected, refunded.
