Men’s Swimming Sinks DII Opponent Alderson Broaddus

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Penn State Altoona men's swimming defeated Division II foe Alderson Broaddus University on Saturday afternoon, as the Lions swam to a 157-70 victory over the Battlers at Franciscan University's Big Red Natatorium.

The Lions reeled off 10 total first place finishes. Noah Jordan (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield), Yash Ray (King of Prussia, PA/Conestoga), and Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) each recorded two individual first places.

Jordan won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.16, and he took first in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:30.52.

Ray earned his first win of the meet in the 50 Yard Freestyle, during which he finished in 22.88. Later, he prevailed in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 50.43.

Swanson triumphed in the 100 Yard Backstroke, securing a time of 57.38. He later took first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle, clocking in at 5:04.49.

Gabriel Flores (Ashburn, VA/Rock Ridge) placed first in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:10.24, and Laurence Wang (New Zealand/Auckland Grammar School) won the 100 Yard Butterfly in 53.06.

Penn State Altoona also won both of the day's relay events. In the meet-opening 200 Yard Medley Relay, Swanson, Jordan, Wang, and Ray combined for a time of 1:42.57 to take first place. In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the meet's final event, Tomasz Zukowski (Slatington, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), Bryce Bauer (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), Ethan Andrews (McVeytown, PA/Mifflin County), and Matt Lenze (Duncansville, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) came together for a time of 1:41.47 to get first place.

The Lions men's swimming team returns home for its next meet, as Penn State Altoona will host Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Alfred State College for a dual meet on Saturday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m.
