Men’s Swimming Falls 141-118 to Behrend

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team hosted its second home dual meet of the 2021-22 season on Saturday afternoon, when the Lions were defeated 141-118 by visiting Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend in the Adler Natatorium.

Penn State Altoona combined for nine first place finishes as a team, with Noah Jordan (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield), Luke Pletz (Jefferson Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson), Yash Ray (King of Prussia, PA/Conestoga), and Laurence Wang (New Zealand/Auckland Grammar School) each recording two individual first places and also being part of a relay first place.

Jordan prevailed in the 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 28.49, and he later won the 100 Yard Breaststroke by finishing in 1:03.71.

Pletz took first in the 50 Yard Backstroke by clocking in at 25.65, then won the 100 Yard Backstroke in 55.52.

Ray came in first place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 22.50, and he also secured first in the 100 Yard Freestyle by finishing in 48.90.

Wang's first win came in the 100 Yard Butterfly, during which he recorded a time of 53.25, and he later claimed first in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 24.05.

Jordan, Pletz, Ray, and Wang combined for a first place finish in the first event of the men's meet, the 200 Yard Medley Relay, by totaling a time of 1:40.66.

Penn State Altoona men's swimming has one more meet before breaking for the remainder of the semester. The Lions will travel next Friday, December 10 to take on non-conference opponent Lycoming College in a dual meet beginning at 6:00 p.m.
