Lycoming Hands Men’s Swimming 107-82 Loss

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team suffered a 107-82 loss on Friday evening to non-conference opponent Lycoming College in a dual meet at the Lamade Gym Natatorium.

Penn State Altoona totaled four first place finishes as a team during the meet.

The Lions won the first event of the men's meet, the 200 Yard Medley Relay. In that event, the foursome of Luke Pletz (Jefferson Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson), Noah Jordan (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield), Laurence Wang (New Zealand/Auckland Grammar School), and Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) combined for a time of 1:42.15 to place first.

Wang earned an individual first place in the 100 Yard Freestyle several events later, finishing in 49.42 to place atop the standings. Pletz also picked up an individual win with a time of 57.54 in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Swanson accounted for Penn State Altoona's fourth and final victory of the meet, when he won the 500 Yard Freestyle by clocking in at 5:01.12.

Penn State Altoona men's swimming will now break for the remainder of the semester, and the Lions are slated to return to competition on Saturday, January 15, when they will host Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Wells College for a home meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
