Men’s Swimming Suffers First Loss at SVC

LATROBE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team took its first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, when the Lions fell 150-108 to non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College at the Frank and Elizabeth Resnik Pool.

Luke Pletz (Jefferson Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson) and Adam Marawan (Dubai, UAE/GEMS Dubai American Academy) each had an individual first place finish for the Lions, and Penn State Altoona also won a relay event.

Pletz came in first during the 200 Yard Butterfly, clocking in at 2:11.36 to finish atop the standings. Marawan won the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 22.79.

The Lions won the day's final event, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, as the team of Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield), Jack Zisa (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury), Christopher Schell (Wyoming, PA/Holy Redeemer), and Adam Dotts (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) came together to post a time of 1:32.35 to take first place.

Penn State Altoona men's swimming returns to action on Saturday, November 5, when the Lions will travel to face Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Alfred State College in a dual meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
