Men’s Swimming Bested by Alfred State

ALFRED, N.Y. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team competed against its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent of the season on Saturday afternoon, when the Lions suffered a 220-70 loss to conference foe Alfred State College at the Orvis Pool.

Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) had both of Penn State Altoona's first place finishes. In the 1000 Yard Freestyle, he took first place with a time of 10:40.20, and he later won the 500 Yard Freestyle by clocking in at 5:12.61.

The Lions also got several second place individual finishes.

Adam Marawan (Dubai, UAE/GEMS Dubai American Academy) recorded a pair of runner-up finishes, placing second in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:49.92 and later taking second in the 200 Yard IM by finishing in 2:06.54.

Adam Dotts (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) was the runner-up in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, recording a time of 1:04.28. Jack Zisa (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) placed second in the 200 Yard Backstroke, finishing in 2:08.49. Brian Nguyen (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) took second in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:25.72.

Next up, the Penn State Altoona men's swimming team will compete in its first multi-opponent event of the season, as the Lions will take part in the Oberlin College Invitational. The event opens on Thursday, November 17 and runs through Saturday, November 19.
