ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team suffered a dual meet loss on Saturday afternoon at the Junker Center Pool, when the Lions took a 157-74 defeat at the hands of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend.

Adam Marawan (Dubai, UAE/GEMS Dubai American Academy) accounted for both of Penn State Altoona's first place finishes. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, he took first with a time of 1:50.61. Later in the meet, he won the 100 Yard Freestyle by clocking in at 49.31.

Penn State Altoona also had seven runner-up finishes during the meet, with two coming from relay teams and five coming via individual swims.

In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the squad of Luke Pletz (Jefferson Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson)/Brian Nguyen (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township)/Laurence Wang (New Zealand/Auckland Grammar School)/Jack Zisa (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) combined for a time of 1:42.44 to take second place. Later in the meet, the team of Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield/Wang/Adam Dotts (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin)/Marawan posted a total time of 3:21.96 to finish in second in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.

Meanwhile, Pletz and Swanson each notched a pair of second place finishes.

Pletz was the runner-up in the 200 Yard IM, finishing in 2:07.29, and he later came in second place in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 54.73. Swanson was second in the 1000 Yard Freestyle after clocking in at 10:34.49, and he also took second in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:06.81.

Wang also had a second place individual finish, earning runner-up status in the 100 Yard Butterfly after recording a time of 55.36.

Penn State Altoona men's swimming will return home for its final meet of the semester, as the Lions will face non-conference opponent Lycoming College for a dual meet in the Adler Natatorium this upcoming Friday, December 9. The start time for the meet it set for 6:00 p.m.
