Men’s Tennis Downed by Behrend

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's tennis team continued its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule on Saturday, when the Lions suffered an 8-1 loss to Penn State Behrend at Westwood Racquet Club to complete the regular season series between the two teams.

Behrend (10-7, 5-0 AMCC) won two out of three in doubles play, then proceeded to win all six singles matches to cruise to a comfortable win.

Penn State Altoona (3-2, 1-2 AMCC) picked up its lone point of the day in the No. 3 doubles match, where the pair of Emmett Hibbs (Richfield, PA/East Juniata)/Javier Pozo (Peru/The Southern Cross School) earned an 8-4 victory over their opponents for their second win of the season together.

Penn State Altoona men's tennis wraps up its weekend road trip tomorrow, Sunday, March 26, with a match against non-conference opponent Thiel College. The start time for the match is slated for 11 a.m.
