NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced its 2022 All-Conference team for men's volleyball on Wednesday morning, and it included four Penn State Altoona players.

Sophomore outside hitter/right side hitter Philip Silva (Brazil/Richard Montgomery) was voted first team All-AMCC, sophomore setter Connor Baker (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) took second team honors, and sophomore outside hitter Jared Bodisch (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) and senior libero Micah Brinker (Lock Haven, PA/PA Cyber) were selected to the third team.

Silva had an outstanding sophomore campaign for the Lions while playing in all 27 matches for his team, placing among the top 10 in eight different statistical categories within the conference this season. In the AMCC, he ranks fifth in service aces (34), sixth in points (339.0), kills (280), kills per set (2.98), and solo blocks (15), seventh in points per set (3.6), eighth in hitting percentage (.237), and ninth in aces per set (0.36), and he is also 23rd in the digs (163), 27th in digs per set (1.73) and total blocks (35), and 30th in blocks per set. Silva earned one AMCC Player of the Week award during the season, receiving the recognition on January 31.

This is Silva's second career selection to an AMCC All-Conference team, as he took second team honors last spring.

Baker played in 26 of the Lions' 27 matches and proved to be the top setter in the AMCC this season, leading the conference in assists per set (8.89) while ranking second in total assists (800). He was also 11th in the AMCC in digs per set (2.12), 12th in total digs (191), 29th in solo blocks (6), 35th in total blocks (27), 36th in block assists (21), 38th in blocks per set (0.30), and 39th in service aces (14). Baker picked up one AMCC Player of the Week award this season, earning the honor on March 21.

This is Baker's first appearance on an AMCC All-Conference team in his collegiate career.

Bodisch played in 25 of Penn State Altoona's 27 matches this season and cemented himself as one of the top offensive players in the league. In the AMCC, the sophomore outside ranks 13th in service aces per set (0.31), 14th in kills per set (2.36), 15th in points per set (2.8), 16th in service aces (27), 17th in kills (203), 19th in hitting percentage (.161), and 20th in points (240.0). Bodisch is also 12th in the conference in digs per set (2.10), 14th total digs (181), and 25th in solo blocks (7).

This marks the second time in Bodisch's collegiate career that he has earned All-AMCC honors, as he was a third team selection last year.

Brinker competed in 25 of the Lions' 27 matches in his senior season with the team, helping to anchor Penn State Altoona's defense as its usual starting libero. In the AMCC, he ranks eighth in digs per set (2.17) and 16th in total digs (174). Additionally, Brinker chipped in 0.45 assists per set and 36 total assists to rank 18th and 19th in the conference, respectively, in those categories.

This is Brinker's first career selection to an AMCC All-Conference team.

Penn State Altoona men's volleyball is 15-12 overall this season, including going 11-5 in the AMCC to rank fourth in the conference's regular season standings. The Lions earned a first-round AMCC Tournament win over Thiel College before falling to eventual champion Penn State Behrend in the semifinal round.

Penn State Altoona's season will continue, however, as the Lions picked up their first-ever berth to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Division III Championship Tournament this week. The team received the number four seed in the five-team bracket and gets a first-round bye before taking on top seed New Jersey City University this Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Ramapo College.
