Ebersole Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – The Penn State Altoona men's volleyball team's junior middle blocker Connor Ebersole (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) was awarded the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday afternoon.

Ebersole was a big presence at the net for the Lions in their 3-0 sweep of AMCC opponent Wells College this past Saturday afternoon at home in Penn State Altoona's final match of the season.

Ebersole finished Saturday's win with a match-high seven total blocks, racking up three solo blocks and four block assists. His total of seven blocks ties for the most by a Lions player in a three-set match in Penn State Altoona men's volleyball team history.

Ebersole currently leads the AMCC in solo blocks (26) while also ranking fourth in the conference in total blocks (65), seventh in blocks per set (0.72), and eighth in block assists (39). This is his first AMCC Player of the Week award of his collegiate career.

Penn State Altoona men's volleyball finished its 2023 season with a 5-19 overall record, including a 5-8 mark against AMCC opponents.
