Farabaugh Selected AMCC Offensive Player of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – For the third consecutive week, Penn State Altoona men's volleyball senior outside hitter Avery Farabaugh (Ebensburg, PA/Cambria Heights) was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Offensive Player of the Week.

Farabaugh continued to power the Lions' offense last week, helping Penn State Altoona to 3-1 victories over Carlow University and Chatham University in a tri-match on the road Saturday.

In the Lions' win over Carlow, Farabaugh tied his season-high in points with 22, getting 18 kills, three service aces, and two block assists. The senior followed that up with another strong performance in Penn State Altoona's victory against Chatham, recording 19.5 points on 18 kills, one solo block, and one block assist.

On the week, Farabaugh totaled 41.5 points (5.2 points per set), 36 kills (4.5 kills per set), four total blocks (0.50 blocks per set), and three aces (0.38 aces per set) while posting a .300 attack percentage. The senior currently leads the AMCC in kills per set (3.97) and points per set (4.6) through eight matches this season.

This is Farabaugh's third career AMCC weekly award.

Penn State Altoona men's volleyball is 4-4 overall this season. The Lions get back on the court this Sunday, February 11 to compete in a non-conference tri-match at Saint Vincent College. That day, the team will take on host St. Vincent at 11 a.m., then face Mount Aloysius College at 1 p.m.
