Friday Softball Doubleheader Cancelled
TRAFFORD, Pa. – Penn State Altoona softball's final regular season doubleheader, scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, May 7, has been cancelled due to the expectation of rain.
The Lions were set to face non-conference opponent Carnegie Mellon University in a doubleheader at UPMC All-American Park in Trafford. However, Friday's forecast projects rain during the day, and the decision was made to cancel the softball games. No makeup date is expected.
With the cancellation, Penn State Altoona softball's next games will be Sunday, May 9, when the Lions travel to Buffalo to take on Medaille College in the first round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament. Sunday's games will consist of a best-of-three series, with the winner advancing to the next round of the conference tournament.
