NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona softball's sophomore right-handed pitcher Madison Peters (Bellefonte, PA/Bald Eagle) was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

In her collegiate debut, Peters tossed a complete game victory for the Lions in her team's first game of the season on Sunday in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.

Peters started in the circle for Penn State Altoona in the Lions' opening game against Martin Luther College yesterday, Sunday, March 5, in the Myrtle Beach-area Fastpitch Classic. The sophomore pitched a complete game to pick up the win, tossing seven innings and yielding just one run on two hits and three walks while striking out seven batters.

Through Sunday and Monday's games, Penn State Altoona softball holds a 2-2 record. The Lions return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, March 7, for a single game against NJCAA opponent Bay College at 9 a.m.
