Women’s Bowling Holds 13th Place After Day Two of SFU Invite

ALTOONA, Pa. – Through the second day of this weekend's three-day Saint Francis University Red Flash Invitational at Holiday Bowl, the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team continued to hold down 13th place out of 13 teams.

The Lions finished Saturday's action, which consisted of five-game baker matches for all teams, with a two-day combined pinfall of 6,412.

Morgan State University remained in the top spot on the leaderboard with 9,485 pins and a 7-2 record on the weekend. Host school St. Francis moved up into second with 9,068 pins and a 9-1 record. Walsh University was third with 8,849 pins and a 7-2 record.

Penn State Altoona started Saturday's round with a 994-673 loss to first place Morgan State. After a bye, the Lions returned to bowl a 904-613 loss to third place Walsh. Wilmington University (DE) handed Penn State Altoona an 861-713 loss in the Lions' third match of the day, and the team closed out the day with an 880-610 loss to second place St. Francis.

The Lions return to action tomorrow, Sunday, January 30 for the third and final day of the SFU Invitational. Sunday's competition will consist of bracket play, with the Lions slated to bowl in three best-of-seven baker matches beginning at 9:00 a.m.
