Medaille College, the five-time defending conference champion, is expected to again win the AMCC this season, as the Mavericks were voted into first place in the poll. Saint Vincent College took second place, and Pitt-Bradford rounded out the top three spots.

Penn State Altoona women's bowling was 5-29 overall last season, including 2-14 in the AMCC. The Lions' roster will feature a balance of returners and newcomers this season, and head coach Elizabeth Rhodes returns for her second year at the helm of the program.

Named as "Players to Watch" for Penn State Altoona in the preseason poll were junior Chloe Mazza (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) and freshman Kennedie Lauver (New Berlin, PA/Mifflinburg).

Mazza bowled in all five events for the Lions last season, leading the team in baker average (15.76 per frame) while tying for second in traditional average (139.6 per game). Lauver comes to Penn State Altoona after being named the Central PA USBC Mifflinburg Area High School Bowler of the Year. She was also a four-time team regional participant, one-time team state participant, and one-time national participant as part of a team and individually.

Penn State Altoona women's bowling starts its 2022-23 schedule on Saturday, November 12, when the Lions take over hosting duties for the annual Unicorn Invitational. The tournament will be held at the F.A. Gerhart Lanes at the Bavarian Aid Society and is expected to get underway at 11:00 a.m.
