Women’s Soccer to Play Six Spring Games

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's soccer program is scheduled to compete in six exhibition games this spring.

The Lady Lions will play three games on campus at Spring Run Stadium, as well as three games on the road. The schedule marks the team's return to intercollegiate competition after its normal Fall 2020 regular season was cancelled due to continued challenges related to COVID-19.

Penn State Altoona opens its slate of spring exhibition games next Wednesday, March 31 at 4:00 p.m., when the Lady Lions will host Mount Aloysius College.

After that, Penn State Altoona will travel for a road doubleheader on Sunday, April 11. The Lady Lions get the day started in Pittsburgh with a 9:00 a.m. game against La Roche University, then will head east to face Pitt-Greensburg that afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

The women's soccer team returns home the following weekend for back-to-back games on campus. On Saturday, April 17, the Lady Lions will face Penn State Behrend at 1:00 p.m., and on Sunday, April 18, the team will play Pitt-Greensburg at 11:00 a.m.

Penn State Altoona women's soccer finishes its slate of spring games on Wednesday, April 21, when the team will make the short trip to Cresson, Pa. to play Mount Aloysius College at 7:00 p.m.

Spectators will be allowed at Penn State Altoona women's soccer home games. Fans will still be required to follow the campus' COVID-19 protocols, including keeping at least six feet of distance between people from outside of your household and wearing face masks when around others.

For fans who are unable to attend games, live video will be offered for as many contests as possible.

The potential exists for various schedule changes to occur, based on a myriad of coronavirus-related issues. Additionally, weather-related delays, postponements, and cancellations are possibilities throughout the season. All of these changes, should they happen, will be communicated through Penn State Altoona's athletics website and social media channels.
