CRESSON, Pa. – In its final game of the regular season on Tuesday evening, the Penn State Altoona women's soccer team was dealt a 3-1 loss by Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mount Aloysius College at the Walker Athletic Complex.

With Tuesday's results in the books, Penn State Altoona gets the number four seed in the upcoming AMCC Tournament and will host five seed La Roche University in the first round of the conference playoffs this Saturday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Run Stadium.

Mallorie Smith (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season for Penn State Altoona (7-9, 5-3 AMCC) during Tuesday's contest. Haley Chambers (Athens, PA/Athens) assisted on the goal to tally her first collegiate point.

The teams played to a 0-0 score by halftime amid challenging weather conditions that featured high winds, chilly temperatures, and steady rain.

But the floodgates opened up in the second half, as the two squads combined to put four goals on the board.

Mount Aloysius (10-7, 6-2 AMCC) put a goal on the board less than 10 minutes into the second half to break the scoreless tie, as Kourtney Walls' shot following a corner kick gave the home team a 1-0 lead at the 54:19 mark.
