Women’s Soccer Overpowered by Titans

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's soccer team competed in its first road game of the 2023 season on Wednesday evening, and it resulted in an 11-0 loss for the Lions to non-conference foe Westminster College at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Westminster (3-0) was led by a hat trick from Chloe LaRosa, while eight different Titan players accounted for the other eight goals. The home team put six goals on the board in the first half, then tacked on five more to its total in the second.

Adeline Baustert (Apollo, PA/Apollo-Ridge) started in goal for the Lions and made five saves while playing 55:52. Caitlin Cowen (South Park, PA/South Park) played the game's final 34:08 and recorded three saves.

Emilee Roman (Davidsville, PA/Conemaugh Township) and Mallorie Smith (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) each finished with a shot on goal for Penn State Altoona.

Women's soccer returns home for its next game, when the Lions will host non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College this Sunday, September 10 at 1 p.m.
