Women’s Tennis Falls 8-1 to SVC

ALTOONA, Pa. – While hosting a rare night match on campus Thursday evening at the Adler Tennis Courts, the Penn State Altoona women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match against Saint Vincent College by a score of 8-1.

St. Vincent (4-3) won two out of three doubles matches to secure an early lead in the overall match, and the Bearcats proceeded to sweep doubles play for six additional points.

Penn State Altoona (1-5) won its lone point of the night in the No. 3 doubles match, where the tandem of Isabella Rhoades (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone)/Stephanie Swain (Yadkin County, NC/Forbush) played to an 8-4 victory over their opponents for their team-leading third doubles win together this season.

Penn State Altoona women's tennis has a quick turnaround for its next match, as the Lions will get back to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play on the road tomorrow, Friday, September 30, when they will travel to face league opponent Pitt-Bradford for a 7:00 p.m. match.
