CRESSON, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's volleyball had its three-match winning streak snapped on Wednesday night in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-16) loss to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mount Aloysius College at the ACW Center.

Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) led the Lions with 11 points, 11 kills, and 14 digs. Lacee Barnhart (Bellefonte, PA/Bald Eagle) contributed five points, five kills, and 10 digs, and Makenna Port (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) had 4.5 points on four kills and a block assist.

Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) totaled 21 assists and nine digs.

Erin Lutz (State College, PA/State College) tallied nine digs, and Abigail Brinker (Lock Haven, PA/PHAA) added four digs. Morgan Fussell (Blairsville, GA/Union County) recorded two block assists and one solo block.

In the first set, Barnhart's kill put the Lions on the board, followed by a block from Fussell to keep Penn State Altoona in the lead, 2-0. After Mount Aloysius jumped ahead, Moran's dump made it 6-3, followed by another block from Fussell and Taylor Myers (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) that cut the Lions' deficit to two. After the Mounties went on a 7-1 scoring run to expand their lead, kills from Mock kept Penn State Altoona within six, 18-12. Lutz scored an ace to get the Lions within three, 24-21, but Mount Aloysius got a kill on the next point to win the set.

In the second set, Mount Aloysius took a 10-point lead, 18-8, against Penn State Altoona, as the Lions struggled offensively to make a play and score. Mock's tip over made it 18-9, but Mount Aloysius went on to win the second set 25-11.

In the third set, Penn State Altoona found a rhythm offensively. After Fussell scored a kill, Mock's tip, Myers' ace, and another two kills by Mock tied the score at 6-6. However, Mount Aloysius worked its way to a six-point lead, 17-11. Myers scored a tip over kill to make it 17-12, and Port's kill later made it 24-16. But the Mounties won the third set by nine to clinch the sweep.

The Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team heads back to the road this Saturday, October 15 to play against AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend. The match is set to start at 5:00 p.m.
