Bio

George Mulligan graduated from Lock Haven University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science, with an emphasis in Athletic Training. While in the program, he worked with Lock Haven’s varsity swimming, field hockey, track & field, and baseball teams. Mulligan has also worked with multiple high school teams from Williamsport and Bald Eagle Area High Schools.

Prior to attending Lock Haven, Mulligan served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and retired after a distinguished 20-year career. While on active duty, he worked as a rescue swimmer, surgical technologist, and hemodialysis/apheresis technician. Mulligan has worked extensively with the Navy’s elite SEAL Teams, providing medical support to SEAL operators independent of a physician’s direct supervision. During this time is when he was first introduced to the profession of Athletic Training. Mulligan witnessed firsthand the profound impact the Athletic Trainers made on the lives of injured SEAL Team members while helping them to overcome devastating and life-altering injuries. He knew what he wanted his next career to be when he retired, aiming to help others regain their active and productive lives after an injury.

“I am committed to assisting my athletes achieve their goals and maintain their physical fitness,” Mulligan has stated. “It is an awesome feeling when I witness them achieve and surpass their own expectations.”

In his free time, Mulligan likes to freedive, kayak, swim, work out, and pursue trophy trout with a spey rod. He also collects Hawaiian shirts and is an espresso aficionado.
