Men’s Golf in Seventh Through Two Days at Camp Lejeune

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – The Penn State Altoona men's golf team continued its competition in this weekend's 52nd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship on Saturday, when the Lions played in day two of the three-day tournament.

Penn State Altoona shot 301 as a team on the par 72 Paradise Point Golf Course, and the Lions now have a two-round team score of 591 to rank in seventh place out of 24 teams.

Sandhills Community College leads the pack with a two-round score of 579. Oglethorpe University holds second place with 584, and Franklin & Marshall College is in third place with 585.

Peter Nusbaum (Pittsboro, NC/Thales Academy) had the Lions' low round on Saturday, shooting 2-under par with a 70. By the conclusion of Saturday's round, Nusbaum was in a tie for fourth place out of 120 individuals with a two-day score of 142.

Andrew Bruce (Moon Township, PA/Moon) fired a 74 on Saturday and is in a tie for 10th place individually with a total score of 144. Nicholas Helsley (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) is in a tie for 43rd place on the player leaderboard with a two-round score of 150, including his 79 from Saturday's action.

Daniel Batrus (Altoona, PA/Altoona) shot 78 on Saturday and finished the day in a tie for 81st place with a two-round score of 155. Nicky Riscica (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) carded an 80 on Saturday and is tied for 99th place with 159 after two days.

The third and final day of the Camp Lejeune tournament is tomorrow, Sunday, April 6, with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
