Men’s Swimming Suffers First Loss at Behrend

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team was handed its first dual meet loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, when the Lions fell 154-116 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Penn State Behrend in the Junker Center.

Penn State Altoona recorded six first place finishes during the meet, including two apiece from Hunter McMullen (Colver, PA/Central Cambria) and Caden Traggiai (Sarver, PA/Knoch).

McMullen won the 100 Yard Butterfly after clocking in at 53.46, and he later took first in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 24.15. Traggiai's first victory came in the 1000 Yard Freestyle, in which he finished in 10:32.83, and he later placed first in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:00.72.

Adam Dotts (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) finished atop the standings in the 50 Yard Breaststroke, tying for first place with Behrend's Ryan Willis after both swimmers recorded a time of 28.55.

Penn State Altoona wrapped up the meet by winning the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, as the team of Shuo Sun (Falls Church, VA/China High Schools), Rocco Solimeo (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt), Lincoln Johnson (Huntingtown, MD/Huntingtown), and Dotts posted a combined time of 1:29.23.

Next up, the Penn State Altoona men's swimming team will prepare for its home opener, as the Lions will host non-conference opponent Lycoming College for a dual meet in the Adler Natatorium on Friday, December 13, at 6 p.m.
