Brevard Deals Lions Loss in Fall Finale
ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's tennis team closed the fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule on Wednesday afternoon at The Summit Tennis and Athletic Club, where non-conference opponent Brevard College blanked the Lions 7-0.
Despite competitive scores throughout the match, Penn State Altoona (3-1) suffered its first loss of the season to Brevard (3-0), which is in the midst of a five-date northern road trip. The Tornadoes swept the Lions in doubles play, winning by scores of 6-4, 6-2, and 6-2, then proceeded to win all six singles matches – including two that went to tiebreak.
With its final match of the fall now behind it, the Penn State Altoona men's tennis team will break from intercollegiate competition until next March, when the Lions dive into the main portion of their 2024-25 season. Penn State Altoona's first match of the spring semester is scheduled for Sunday, March 23, when the Lions host Penn State Behrend in their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opener.
