ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona softball program announced its 2020 season schedule on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Lions' spring schedule is highlighted by 10 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference doubleheaders and a total of 14 home games to be played on campus at Stewart Athletic Field.

Penn State Altoona is slated to open its 2020 schedule on Saturday, February 22, when the team will travel south to Virginia to take on Bridgewater College in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.

After the team's early March spring break trip (dates, times, and locations to-be-announced), Penn State Altoona will return to Pennsylvania for home doubleheaders against Saint Vincent College (Wednesday, March 18 at 3:00 p.m.) and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Penn State Behrend (Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m.). The rest of the month, the Lady Lions will travel for a pair of doubleheaders against AMCC opponents Mount Aloysius College (Tuesday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m.) and Medaille College (Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m.) while hosting Geneva College on Thursday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m.

The Lady Lions open the month of April with three straight road doubleheaders, traveling to play AMCC opponents Pitt-Greensburg (Wednesday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m.) and Franciscan University (Tuesday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m.), as well as Juniata College (Thursday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m.). After a home twinbill against new AMCC team Alfred State College (Friday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m.), Penn State Altoona hits the road again for two more conference doubleheaders against Pitt-Bradford (Wednesday, April 15 at 3:00 p.m.) and D'Youville College (Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m.).

Penn State Altoona rounds out April with three consecutive home doubleheaders, hosting AMCC foes La Roche University (Wednesday, April 22 at 3:00 p.m.) and Hilbert College (Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m.), as well as Westminster College (Thursday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m.).
