In light of the upcoming closure of Wells College, Penn State Altoona softball's doubleheader at its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent, scheduled to happen this Saturday, May 4, has been cancelled.

The Lions will receive a pair of forfeit wins, which will factor into the seeding for the upcoming AMCC postseason tournament.

Wells announced on Monday, April 29, that the school would close at the end of this semester. Following that news, the Express softball program made the decision to end their season and cancel their remaining games against Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Altoona.

With Saturday's cancellation, Penn State Altoona softball's regular season is now complete. The Lions will await the completion of the conference regular season to determine their seeding in the AMCC Tournament, then will prepare to defend their conference title in the playoffs. More details about the AMCC Tournament will be released by the conference office at the conclusion of the league's regular season.
