Centenary took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Madison Passanante drove in a run with her double, then scored on an error to give the Cyclones a two-run advantage.

Penn State Altoona plated a run in the top of the second to cut its deficit in half, when Dotts reached on an error that allowed Kennedy to score, making it 2-1.

The Lions jumped ahead in the top of the third. Alyssa Fisher (Lock Haven, PA/Central Mountain) drew a leadoff walk, then scored on an error in the next at-bat. One batter later, Lauck's sacrifice fly to left put Penn State Altoona on top, 3-2.

The Lions padded their lead in the fifth. With one out, after a Davidson single and Gianna Hoppel (Lewistown, PA/Mifflin County) was hit by a pitch, Lauck doubled to left to drive in both runners, increasing Penn State Altoona's lead to 5-2.

The Lions held Centenary off the scoreboard the rest of the way, including forcing the Cyclones to leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, to secure victory.
