Lady Lions Go 0-3 in Day Two of Red Flash Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's bowling continued its weekend in the Saint Francis University Red Flash Invitational on Saturday at Holiday Bowl, dropping three matches during day two of the three-day event.

Saturday's matches were played in the traditional team format, with the Lady Lions matched up against a trio of Division I opponents. Penn State Altoona came out on the losing end of each match, falling 936-663 to Youngstown State University, 874-563 to host school St. Francis, and 822-616 to Morgan State University.

Penn State Altoona bowled 595 and 607 in its two bye games.

Allyson Givler (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) led Penn State Altoona in total pinfall on the day, dropping 543 pins in four games for an average of 135.75 pins per game. Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) led the Lady Lions in average, bowling three games and averaging 146.67 per game while dropping a total of 440 pins.

Lucia Perez (Cochabamba, Bolivia/CCS) bowled three games and averaged 142.67 per game, dropping 428 pins in total. Kaitlyn Estright (Norristown, PA/Archbishop Carroll) had Penn State Altoona's high score on the day, rolling a 170, and she totaled 404 pins in three games for an average of 134.67 per game.

Sierra Snigier (Seaford, DE/Seaford) dropped 364 pins in three games, averaging 121.3 per game. Jennifer Worley (Altoona, PA/Altoona) recorded a pinfall of 271 in three games, posting an average score of 90.3.

Alyssa Bender (Altoona, PA/Altoona), Kashish Gujral (Uttar Pradesh, India/Delhi Public School), and Po-Hsuan Peng (Taoyuan City, Taiwan/Dayuan International) bowled two games apiece for Penn State Altoona. Gujral totaled 206 pins, Bender dropped 203 pins, and Peng put 185 pins down.

Penn State Altoona women's bowling will compete in the third and final day of the Red Flash Invitational tomorrow, Sunday, January 26. Day three action will consist of bracket play, with the format being baker. Start time for the day's first match is 8:00 a.m.
