Women’s Bowling Swept in Dual Match at La Roche

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's bowling suffered a trio of losses to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent La Roche University on Saturday at Perry Park Lanes.

The teams played one traditional team match, as well as two five-game baker matches decided by total pinfall. In the traditional format match, Penn State Altoona suffered a 718-613 loss. In the two baker matches, the Lady Lions fell by scores of 710-640 and 660-595.

In the traditional match, Sierra Snigier (Seaford, DE/Seaford) rolled a team-high game of 139. Kaitlyn Estright (Norristown, PA/Archibishop Carroll) bowled 133, and Po-Hsuan Peng (Taoyuan City, Taiwan/Dayuan International) dropped 121 pins. Jennifer Worley (Altoona, PA/Altoona) finished with a 115, and Alyssa Bender (Altoona, PA/Altoona) bowled 105.

In the first baker match, La Roche defeated Penn State Altoona by pinfall in each of the five games. The Lady Redhawks prevailed by scores of 134-107, 129-128, 176-149, 143-140, and 128-116.

Penn State Altoona won two games during the second baker match, taking games three and four by scores of 168-139 and 127-121. But La Roche's edge in pins during the other three games was enough to win the match, as the home team produced victories of 145-122, 121-85, and 134-93 in games one, two, and five.

Penn State Altoona women's bowling will return to action on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8 for the second and final AMCC Round Robin weekend of the season. The weekend's matches will be hosted by Mount Aloysius College at the Bavarian Aid Society in Altoona.
