Women’s Bowling Goes 1-3 to Finish Round Robin Weekend

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's bowling went 1-3 during the second day of the last Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin weekend of the season on Sunday at the F.A. Gerhart Lanes in the Bavarian Aid Society.

Penn State Altoona picked up its second overall win of the season and first victory within AMCC Round Robin play this year by posting a 624-609 victory over Hilbert College in the day's first match. However, the Lady Lions suffered three narrow losses to wrap up their regular season, falling to La Roche University (674-642), Pitt-Bradford (732-669), and Penn State Behrend (689-645).

Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) led the Lady Lions on the day in total pinfall and average in four traditional team format matches. Moran dropped 572 pins, averaging 143.0 pins per game.

Alyssa Bender (Altoona, PA/Altoona) totaled 558 pins for an average of 139.5 pins per game, and she rolled the Lady Lions' high score on the day with a 175 against La Roche. Kaitlyn Estright (Norristown, PA/Archbishop Carroll) finished close behind, dropping 554 pins for an average of 138.5 pins per game.

Jennifer Worley (Altoona, PA/Altoona) scored 460 pins in four games for an average of 115.0 per game, and Sierra Snigier (Seaford, DE/Seaford) had 436 pins in four games for an average of 109.0.

Now that the two regular season AMCC Round Robin weekends have been played, Penn State Altoona is in last place out of 10 conference teams with a 1-17 AMCC record. That puts the Lady Lions out of contention to play in the AMCC Championships, and the team's season ends.
