BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team returned to conference play on Saturday, competing in the first of the two-day Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin #2 at Byllye Lanes, hosted by Pitt-Bradford.

Competing in traditional team format matches, Penn State Altoona totaled one win and three losses on the day to rank eighth out of nine competing squads. The Lions dropped a total of 2,771 pins during Saturday's action.

Saint Vincent College held down the top spot on the team leaderboard with a 4-0 record on the day, dropping 3,490 pins as a team. Pitt-Bradford finished the day in second place with a 4-1 record and 4,112 pins, and Medaille College was third by the day's end with a 3-1 record and a total of 3,513 pins.

The Lions started the day with a 902-625 defeat at the hands of Medaille. In their second match, they fell 758-680 to Mount Aloysius College. Penn State Altoona bounced back in its third match of the day to record its third victory of the season, besting Pitt-Greensburg 781-755. The Lions lost 784-685 to Penn State Behrend in their fourth and final match of the day.

Allyson Givler (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) led the way for the Lions during Saturday's round, dropping 639 pins to rank 24th out of 56 competing bowlers while averaging 159.75 per game. Chloe Mazza (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) was second on her team and 27th overall in pinfall with 607, and she compiled a 151.75 per game average. Mazza also notched the Lions' high score on the day when she rolled a 204 in her team's win over Pitt-Greensburg.

Breanna Yarnall (Bedford, PA/Bedford) was 28th overall and third on her team with 557 pins on the day, and she averaged 139.25 per game. Kaitlyn Estright (Norristown, PA/Archbishop Carroll) dropped 496 pins to rank fourth on her team and 33rd individually, and she posted a 124.0 per game average. Brooke Colledge (Everett, PA/Everett) made her collegiate bowling debut to round out Penn State Altoona's starting five, dropping 472 pins to rank 35th on the individual leaderboard and averaging 118.0 per game.

Penn State Altoona women's bowling will wrap up the second and final AMCC regular season round robin tomorrow, Sunday, February 6. Action is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
