Women’s Golf Returns to Action at The Ruckus

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Penn State Altoona women's golf team teed off its spring schedule on Saturday, when the Lions competed in day one of The Ruckus at Williamsburg National Golf Club.

Penn State Altoona shot 474 as a team on the par 72 course, ranking ninth place out of nine teams by the end of Saturday's round. York College (Pa.) topped the leaderboard with a score of 315, while Bowdoin College and Drew University were tied for second place with matching team scores of 321.

Lauren Thompson (Austin, TX/Anderson) had the Lions' low round, shooting 97 to finish the day in a tie for 28th place out of 48 individuals. Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens) carded 117, Sabella Wu (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) scored 121, and Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) and Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) each shot 139.

The second and final round of The Ruckus is tomorrow, Sunday, March 23, with a scheduled start time of 9:30 a.m.
