Women’s Golf Finishes Pennsylvania Classic in 10th Place

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – At the conclusion of the second and final day of this weekend's Pennsylvania Classic at the Penn State White Course, the Penn State Altoona women's golf team settled for 10th place out of 10 squads.

The Lions shaved 15 strokes off of their first-round score when they shot 425 as a team in Sunday's round, the squad's lowest team round of the season to date. Penn State Altoona finished with a two-day total of 865 on the par 72 course, ending the weekend in 10th place in its home tournament.

Washington & Jefferson College claimed first place with a two-round total of 651, while Westminster College finished second with 664. Allegheny College came in third place with 696.

Lauren Thompson (Austin, TX/Anderson) had a top-10 individual finish for Penn State Altoona, after she fired 83 in Sunday's round and finished with a two-day score of 167 to come in eighth place out of 51 golfers.

Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens) placed 44th individually, totaling 219 across two days, including her 105 on Sunday. Sabella Wu (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) took 46th place, shooting 115 in day two and finishing with a combined score of 227.

Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) was 50th place with a two-round score of 252, including 122 on Sunday. Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) took 51st place, carding 125 on Sunday and totaling 258 shots in two rounds.

Next up, the Penn State Altoona women's golf team will travel for its final road event of the season on Saturday, April 5, when the Lions will compete in the Susquehanna Spring Invitational at Susquehanna Country Club in Selinsgrove.
