Lady Lions in Fourth After Day Three at AMCC Championships

WEBSTER, N.Y. – By the end of day three of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships on Friday at the Webster Aquatic Center, the Penn State Altoona women's swimming team was in fourth place out of six teams.

The Lady Lions added 23 points to their team score on Friday, increasing it from 149 points to 172 points. In the standings, Penn State Altoona is ahead of SUNY Delhi (116 points) and Pitt-Bradford (14 points).

Penn State Behrend continues to hold a slim lead for first place, edging out second place Alfred State College by a 386-375 margin. Franciscan University moved into third place with a total of 198 points.

Grace Dangelo (State College, PA/State College) earned her second win during this week's AMCC Championships by taking first place in the conference and second place in the combined AMCC-Empire 8 standings in the 200 Yard Butterfly. Dangelo clocked in at 2:11.19 to finish ahead of the other AMCC swimmers, and that time also breaks her own team record of 2:11.92, which she set this past November 23.

Kaitlin Heil (Pittsburgh, PA/CAPA) competed in the 'C' final for the 100 Yard Breaststroke, earning a time of 1:19.56 to pick up a seventh place finish within the AMCC.

Penn State Altoona women's swimming is back in the water tomorrow, Saturday, February 22 for the fourth and final day of the AMCC Championships.
