Women’s Swimming Falls to Bearcats

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's swimming team continued its schedule on Saturday afternoon with another home meet, facing non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College in the Adler Natatorium.

The Lions suffered their first dual-meet loss of the season, falling 151-102 to St. Vincent. Penn State Altoona totaled five first place finishes during the meet, with Madison Coleman (Altoona, PA/Tyrone) and Sarah Petry (St. Benedict, PA/Cambria Heights) winning two events apiece and McKenna Holl (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) recording one win.

Petry provided the Lions with their first win of the meet by achieving a triumph in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:07.17. She earned her second victory of the day in the 500 Yard Freestyle, in which she finished in 5:43.90.

Coleman's first win was in the 100 Yard Freestyle, during which she compiled a time of 58.28. She later placed first in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:26.33.

Holl took first place in the 200 Yard Backstroke, clocking in at 2:22.09.

Penn State Altoona women's swimming remains home for its next meet, when the Lions will face their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent of the season. Penn State Altoona hosts conference foe Alfred State College on Saturday, November 4 at 1 p.m.
