Women’s Swimming Drops Last Home Meet to Behrend

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's swimming team lost to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend 186-76 on Saturday afternoon in the Adler Natatorium, suffering their third dual-meet loss of the season.

Penn State Altoona totaled one first-place finish during the meet, as Madison Coleman (Altoona, PA/Tyrone) provided the Lions with a win in the 200 Yard Freestyle by clocking in a time of 2:09.03.

In their loss, the Lions totaled nine second-place finishes and two third-place finishes in the rest of the meet. The group of Coleman, Ayva Harris (Monroeville, PA/Gateway), McKenna Holl (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) and Ava Monborne (Ebensburg, PA/Central Cambria) took home Penn State Altoona's first second-place of the day as they combined for a time of 2:00.17 in the 200 Yard Medley Relay.

Monborne contributed to three of the Lions' second-place wins, clocking in times of 2:09.71 in the 200 Yard Freestyle, 58.48 in the 100 Yard Freestyle, and 30.40 in the 50 Yard Butterfly. Katie Chen (Jacksonville, FL/Creekside) finished third in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 32.00 for Penn State Altoona.

Holl finished second in the 50 Yard Freestyle after compiling a time of 26.49, as well as a time of 1:06.50 in the 100 Yard Backstroke that earned her second place in that swim. Harris achieved a time of 34.56 and a second-place finish in the 50 Yard Breaststroke.

Emma Fraundorfer (Altoona, PA/Altoona) also added a 31.57 time in the 50 Yard Backstroke to take second place in that event, while Monborne finished second in the 100 Yard Freestyle, clocking in a time of 58.48.

The group of Coleman, Holl, Fraundorfer and Petry finished second with a 1:48.36 time in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay to end Penn State Altoona's afternoon.

Next up, Penn State Altoona women's swimming goes on the road to compete against non-conference opponent Lycoming College on Friday, December 8 at 6 p.m.
