Women’s Tennis Ends Fall Regular Season with Loss to Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's tennis team played its final match of the fall regular season on Monday evening, when the Lions lost 7-0 to non-conference opponent Juniata College at the Raffensperger Courts.

Penn State Altoona (7-9) suffered losses of 6-2, 6-2, and 6-4 in doubles play, as Juniata (1-1) scored the first point of the match. The Eagles went on to win all six singles matches to put six more points on the board, blanking the Lions by a final score of 7-0.

Now, the Penn State Altoona women's tennis team will prepare for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament this upcoming weekend at Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pa. On Saturday, October 19, the No. 3 seed Lions will take on No. 2 seed Penn State Behrend in an AMCC semifinal match, which will start after the conclusion of the 2:30 p.m. match.

The winner of Saturday's two semifinal matches advance to the AMCC Championship the next day, Sunday, October 20.
