Women’s Volleyball Releases 2024 Schedule

ALTOONA, Pa. – The defending Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference champion Penn State Altoona women's volleyball program announced its 2024 season schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions are set to compete in 27 matches this fall, including their eight-date AMCC schedule and a total of 10 home matches to be played in Adler Arena.

Penn State Altoona opens its 2024 schedule on Friday, August 30, and Saturday, August 31, competing against St. Mary's College, Kenyon College, The University of Olivet, and Kalamazoo College as part of the Great Lakes Crossover Tournament, hosted in Sandusky, Ohio.

As the calendar flips to September, the Lions travel to play Wilson College on Tuesday, September 3, then play in the Shenandoah University Tournament on Friday, September 6, and Saturday, September 7, against McDaniel College, Hood College, and Shenandoah.

After that, Penn State Altoona returns to campus for its home opener, part of a four-match homestand. The Lions host Geneva College on Wednesday, September 11 at 7 p.m., face Elizabethtown College and Chatham University as part of a tri-match on Saturday, September 14, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., then go up against Lycoming College on Tuesday, September 17, at 7 p.m.

The Lions hit the road again on Thursday, September 19, to face Penn College at 7 p.m., then compete in a tri-match at Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday, September 21, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. against Bethany College and W&J. Penn State Altoona returns home to finish the month, hosting Saint Vincent College on Wednesday, September 25, at 7 p.m. and Wilkes University on Saturday, September 28, at 1 p.m.

Penn State Altoona starts October by traveling to face Chatham on Tuesday, October 1, at 7 p.m. before opening its AMCC schedule at Pitt-Greensburg on Tuesday, October 8, at 7 p.m. The Lions come back to Ivyside to host conference foe Hilbert College on Saturday, October 12, at 12 p.m., then travel to Erie for a tri-match with AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend and non-conference foe The College of Wooster. Penn State Altoona then travels to play conference opponent Carlow University on Tuesday, October 22, at 7 p.m.

The Lions finish October with home matches against AMCC opponents Pitt-Bradford (Saturday, October 26, at 1 p.m.) and Mount Aloysius College (Wednesday, October 30, at 7 p.m.).

Penn State Altoona wraps up its regular season with a road match against AMCC opponent Alfred State College (Saturday, November 2, at 11 a.m.) and a home tilt versus conference foe La Roche University (Tuesday, November 5, at 7 p.m.).

Should the Lions qualify for the AMCC postseason, the first round of the conference playoff tournament is Wednesday, November 13. The semifinal and championship matches are scheduled for Saturday, November 16, and Sunday, November 17, at the site of the number one seed.
