
Four Lions Earn CSC Academic Honors in Women’s Volleyball
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four Penn State Altoona women's volleyball student-athletes were recognized by the College Sports Communicators for their success in the classroom, as the CSC announced its 2024 NCAA Division III Academic All-District women's volleyball team on Tuesday.
To be eligible for a spot on the Academic All-District team, student-athletes must meet certain academic and athletic requirements. Academically, student-athletes must be at least sophomores while holding cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. Athletically, players must be starters or key reserves who have played in at least 90 percent of their team's matches, or started 66 percent of the matches. Nominators could submit up to four qualified student-athletes per team.
The four Penn State Altoona women's volleyball student-athletes named to the CSC's NCAA Division III Academic All-District team are:
-senior libero Anna Batrus (Altoona, PA/Altoona); majoring in Business Management and Marketing
-senior middle blocker Taylor Myers (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch); majoring in Nursing
-senior middle blocker Makenna Port (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte); majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education
-sophomore outside hitter Lia Simanski (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle); majoring in Business
