Barrios Selected AMCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona freshman Maya Barrios (Portland, OR/Beaverton) was announced as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Women's Wrestler of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Barrios went 3-0 in the Muhlenberg Novice Tournament on Sunday, December 8. The freshman wrestled at 124 and won all three of her matches by pin.
Penn State Altoona women's wrestling has competed in three events to date in its inaugural season as an NCAA sport at Ivyside. Next up for the Lions, the team holds its home opener on Monday, January 20, facing non-conference opponent Alvernia University for a dual at 1:30 p.m.
